Based upon large solar flare and high energy CME’s (coronal mass ejections) that appear to be Earth-directed, Metatech is issuing a Geomagnetic Storm Advisory. Please find attached a PDF with the April 10, 2001 Solar Condition and Geomagnetic Storm Advisory. Based upon the limited observational data available, the current levels of solar activity have the potential to trigger a geomagnetic storm starting as early as April 11, 2001. The expected storm can potentially be equal to or larger in intensity and duration than the recent March 31, 2001 geomagnetic storm.

Please be advised that these several day-ahead projections have considerable uncertainty. Solar wind conditions when observed near earth will determine the severity of any geomagnetic storm activity as the plasma cloud arrives. Our customers that subscribe to this service will receive the usual continuous one-minute updates on these rapidly changing conditions.
