Metatech is issuing a new Solar Condition Advisory today (April 23). Active Region 9393 (now designated Active Region 9433) has returned and is beginning to transit across the solar disk. While only limited M-Class flares have occurred so far, the structure of this spot indicates good potential for large flare activity over the next few days. Other active regions that are currently well positioned are also showing signs of rapid development and they may also pose a risk of large flare activity.
Please be advised that these several day-ahead projections have considerable uncertainty. Solar wind conditions when observed near earth will determine the severity of any geomagnetic storm activity as the plasma cloud arrives. Our customers that subscribe to this service will receive the usual continuous one-minute updates on these rapidly changing conditions.
As a special feature, this Advisory also contains a Special Storm Summary Report on the recent high levels of Solar and Geomagnetic Storm Activity. As a result, this Advisory is quite lengthy (11+ pages). However, we provide a brief quick summary on Page 2 of this advisory that highlights the information if you do not have time to dig into the details we have provided.
We also have a number of new subscribers to our Public Advisory service, they can feel free to contact us if they would like to receive copies of past advisories and storm summaries that they have issued, as they provide useful background and event information to correlate with problem events they may have experienced.
