September 25, 2001 Solar Condition & Geomagnetic Storm Advisory
Metatech is extending and upgrading the Geomagnetic Storm Advisory first issued on September 24, 2001. Please find attached a PDF with the September 25, 2001 Solar Condition and Geomagnetic Storm Advisory. Based upon the limited observational data available, the current levels of solar activity have the potential to trigger a long-duration and possibly major geomagnetic storm starting as early as September 25, 2001. Active Regions 9628 and 9632 continue to pose a threat for additional eruptive activity over the next 4 days.
Please be advised that these several day-ahead projections have considerable uncertainty. Solar wind conditions when observed near earth will determine the severity of any geomagnetic storm activity as the plasma cloud arrives. Our customers that subscribe to this service will receive the usual continuous one-minute updates on these rapidly changing conditions.
