Solar Cycle 23 Long-term Forecast November 6, 2001

Please find attached a special summary "Metatech’s Geomagnetic Storm Forecast and Outlook for Solar Cycle 23 - (2001-2007)" where we provide an outlook for geomagnetic storm activity over the remainder of Cycle 23. This outlook and forecast suggests that nearly 60% of all geomagnetic storms expected in this solar cycle are yet to occur and will happen over the next 5 years. Further, the data suggests that one or two Geomagnetic Superstorms are probable during the remainder of Cycle 23.
