This Advisory contains a Storm Summary Report for the period from September 29 through October 4, 2001. A series of long-duration/moderate intensity storms persisted over this interval of time. This summary provides specific time ranges of geomagnetic storm conditions that could have caused transformer internal heating or other operational impacts due to the excessively long duration of these events. These summaries provide useful background and event information to correlate with problem events that may have been experienced.
